Annual KAAE Programming
NEW INFO:
2008
smART! Conference Thursday June 12 through Saturday June
14 join teachers from across the Commonwealth in Louisville for three
days of intensive hands-on experiences to integrate into their school
classrooms. All sessions support the Program of Studies and Core Content,
and presenters integrate Depth of Knowledge into the sessions. Up to twenty
hours of professional development credit available.
This year’s pre-conference is supported by funding
from the Kentucky Arts Council through its Lincoln Bicentennial Project
Grant program. Teacher participants in this component of the Alliance
’s annual conference will be eligible to apply for mini-grants to
support Lincoln-focused arts-infused classroom units.

Summer Music Institute
The deadline for the 2008 NSO Summer Music Institute has
passed. Check back to discover which Kentucky students have been passed
onto the national selection committee. Information about the 2009 Institute

The Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra
Summer Music Institute is a 4-week summer music program at the John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, for student
instrumentalists. The program is designed for serious music students.
Each student accepted into the Program attends on full scholarship, which
includes the following benefits: round-trip air transportation to and
from Washington, DC, housing, food allowance, and local transportation
during their stay in our Nation's Capital.

Ticket Award
The Kentucky Alliance for Arts Education has submitted Dixie Elementary
Magnet School , Fayette County , to the national Creative Ticket Award
of Excellence selection panel.
